EXPRESSIONS OF LOVE BETWEEN
AUSTRALIA AND INDONESIA

This textile piece was designed during a workshop run by Anne Leon.

I choose a border colour of red to signify love and a print to link to the Indonesia theme. The dividing border was adorned with dots to reflect the Aboriginal culture of Australia. The main division of colour; orange and reds to blues and purple is to reflect night and day and land to ocean.

I chose butterfly’s and fish prints because they are common creatures in Indonesia and Australia. People from different cultures recognise these as peaceful symbols.
